｜2025 Maokong Gondola One-Day Pass (Standard Ticket)

The Maokong Gondola is the first cable car system in Taipei City, featuring an automated circulation system produced by the French company POMA. The total length is 4.03 kilometers, and a single trip takes about 30 minutes. There are four stations along the line where passengers can board and alight: "Zoo Station," "Zoo South Station," "Zhinan Temple Station," and "Maokong Station."

The three most beautiful moments to ride the gondola are after the rain when clouds and fog set in, during the sunset's afterglow, and amidst the brilliant night scene. As you ride the gondola, moving along the mountain's contours, you can look down at the moving MRT trains, the riverside park along Jingmei River, and the Giraffe Incinerator. When approaching the turn at Station 2, there is a large curve that opens up a wide view, overlooking the highway traffic. After passing Zhinan Temple Station, you enter a steep V-shaped slope, which is the climax of the gondola journey—sure to be a memorable experience.

Visitors to scenic areas often like to send postcards. Starting with this idea, the Maokong leisure agriculture area has developed a series of Mini Tea Seal DIY activities related to tea. Visitors can send a brew of Maokong's Tieguanyin tea to distant friends or themselves. We've thoughtfully integrated an emotional element into the activity design. Besides sending a brew, visitors also write a letter, a sentence, a blessing, or even a single word, sealed in a custom postcard envelope with a pack of Tieguanyin tea and sent out.

This allows distant friends or oneself to taste a heartwarming brew of Maokong's Tieguanyin upon receiving the thoughtful gesture.

  • Check-in Time: Please check in at the counter "10 minutes" before the experience starts. Be punctual for check-in and admission. To protect the rights of others, the experience provider reserves the right to refuse entry to latecomers.
  • No-shows: After checking in, no refunds will be issued for cancellations or absences without cause.

｜Product Redemption

  • Any product or gift included in the package, once redeemed and used, cannot be returned or refunded.
  • Please be sure to note the business hours of the redemption store. If it is not possible to redeem during that period, please redeem during other normal business hours within the validity period.
  • The package has a validity period of 7 days, which means all items must be used within 7 days of the first use (including the day of first use). For example, if the first product is activated on January 1, 2025, it must be used by January 7, 2025, at the latest.
  • This ticket is limited to one per person, each electronic ticket can only be used once, and cannot be reused after validation upon entry.
  • If there are factors beyond control (including but not limited to typhoons, earthquakes, heavy rain, and other natural disasters), considering public safety, the event organizers may reschedule or cancel the event and will announce and contact in advance. ｜Maokong Gondola

  • Operating Hours
    • Weekdays: 09:00 ~ 21:00
    • Holidays: 09:00 ~ 22:00 (Closed for maintenance on Mondays and New Year's Eve, operates as usual on public holidays)
  • The following conditions will temporarily suspend operations, and passenger service will resume depending on operational conditions.
    • Operations will be suspended when the instantaneous wind speed reaches 16 meters per second (about 7 on the Beaufort scale) for more than 3 seconds, or exceeds 18 meters per second (about 8 on the Beaufort scale).
    • Operations will be suspended during lightning in the operational area. If no lightning is detected for 30 minutes, operations will resume.
    • Operations will be suspended when an earthquake of magnitude 4 or higher occurs.
    • When a land typhoon warning is issued (including the Taipei area), operations will be suspended based on the weather conditions or if the Taipei City Government announces a stop to work or school. Please check the official website before heading out to confirm operational status.

※ In cases of special festivals, large events, seasonal weather, and other special circumstances, the Maokong Gondola will flexibly adjust its operating hours. Please be sure to check the Maokong Gondola website for the latest information before departing.

  • Gondola Riding Precautions:
    • Before riding the gondola, assess your health condition. Those with cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, acrophobia, or who are feeling unwell should not ride the gondola.
    • Please follow the staff's guidance to queue and board the gondola. Do not enter or exit the cabin arbitrarily. Please disembark in order when arriving at a station and do not linger on the platform.
    • The maximum capacity for each gondola cabin is: generally 8 people or a total weight of not more than 640 kg; for the Maokong Eye Crystal Cabin, 5 people or a total weight of not more than 400 kg. Please distribute evenly on both sides of the cabin.
    • Passengers must disembark at the terminal stations (Zoo Station or Maokong Station). To continue riding the gondola, a new ticket must be purchased.
    • Please give way to elderly and mobility-impaired passengers.
    • The gondola moves slowly at the platform. Do not interfere with the operation of the gondola when boarding or disembarking.
    • Do not stand, jump, or sway the cabin while the gondola is in motion.
    • Elderly, young children, and passengers who require accompaniment should be escorted by a companion.
    • Strollers, wheelchairs, and electric mobility scooters must not exceed the dimensions of 140 cm in length, 70 cm in width, and 170 cm in height, and must be able to be securely fixed in the cabin to prevent danger during cabin movement.
    • Passengers using strollers, wheelchairs, and electric mobility scooters should follow the station staff's guidance when entering and exiting the cabin.
    • In the event of lightning during operation, the gondola will temporarily suspend operations. Please cooperate with the staff for evacuation.
    • For passengers with mobility impairments or those in wheelchairs, the system will adjust the speed or temporarily stop to facilitate boarding and disembarking. Please do not panic.
    • Smoking, eating (except for plain water or mineral water), chewing gum, or betel nuts are prohibited inside the gondola cabins, and do not throw objects outside.
    • Please do not lean against the cabin doors or obstruct their operation.
    • If a passenger violates laws, public order, or good morals within the gondola system, actions will be taken according to relevant laws or regulations.
