YM Oceanic Culture & Art Museum
The original building owned by Nippon Yusen Kaisha was completed on May 4, 1915, built in a "historic style" that was popular at that time; it was an important example of architecture at the west coast of Keelung Harbor, and it has special indicative significance to Keelung's position as a shipping hub. After the Recession of Taiwan, the building was taken over by the Business Department, and Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. was appointed to take charge of operation management until the present. Undergoing the baptism of World War II and years of weathering, the preservation of the old-time facade of the building and its retro and elegant round-shaped arcade can roughly show the outer look of the building in the Japanese-ruled period. Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp., on the basis of a high degree of concern about the heritage of marine aquaculture and reusing revitalization of historical architecture, has started planning and renovating since 2003; in addition to preserving the ancient building's simple and unadorned style, with taking marine aquaculture as longitude, humanity and arts as latitude and infusing new life, new spirit, and new vision, the corporation named the building the " YM Oceanic Culture & Art Museum".
Yehliu Geopark
Due to sea erosion and weathering, the strange rocks in Yehliu are described as an amazing landscape of the world's natural wonder; also, it's Taiwan's largest classroom of natural geology. Next to the park is Yehliu Ocean World, where visitors can watch playful shows of dolphins and sea lions; in addition, in the underwater ocean tunnel, visitors can observe ocean creatures through the largest glass, it's a hot tourism spot for children and parents.
