The Taipei Children's Amusement Park (former Taipei Children's Recreation Center) is located in Yuanshan. The entire site was designated as a national archeological site on April 11, 2006, after which the development, renewal and operation of the site were greatly impacted and limited.
To overcome the restrictions, the Taipei City government developed plans to build a new children's park in the Shilin District (approx. 5 hectares), in close proximity to the Taipei Astronomical Museum, the National Taiwan Science Education Center, Meilun Park and the Shuangxi River. The goal was to create a family-friendly environment for public educational, recreational and cultural facilities.
Surrounded by the Astronomical Museum, the Science Education Center, Meilun Park and the riverside park, people are welcome to enjoy these natural and educational resources in addition to the facilities in Taipei Children's Amusement Park.
