In Prohibition in 1920s USA, bars went underground. The word “speakeasy” became a code word between customers and bars. Speakeasy has become a bar style, what we call a hidden bar.
In Dadaocheng there’s such a Speakeasy Bar/Café, hidden in an old building called the Art Yard; you will need to walk through several back alleys to get to the back entrance of the building, entering a short hallway and take a mysterious flight of stairs up to the second floor to get there. Everything at City North will leave you with an unforgettable memory.
