Currently, there are about 20,000 hectares of tea plantations in Taiwan, producing about 20,000 tons of tea in every year. The tea industry in Taiwan was export-oriented in the past. Over the past decade, due to economic prosperity and the rising level of living standards, the domestic consumption of tea industries is sustainable increasing. Nowadays, the qualities of Taiwan tea are highly appreciated by domestic and international markets, the tea products always be the best choice as the Taiwan souvenir for foreigners.
Tea for Taiwanese, is a part of social fabric, "Come in and drink tea," is a standard greeting to guests. Tea tables are a standard feature of Taiwanese homes and businesses. Serving tea is a way to make guests and clients feel welcome.

Maokong Tea Plantation
Maokong being a mountainous area in the southern edge of Taipei is famous for it’s tea plantations. Because of it’s high elevations, the rich moisture in the soil, and cool temperatures, this makes it an ideal place to grow tea. Widely known as the most scenic spot in Taipei to drink quality, locally grown tea, Maokong is a quaint village located at the top of a mountain providing breathtaking views of Taipei City.
Dadaocheng: WANG TEA
WANG TEA used to export tea to Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, and other countries. In 1975, WANG TEA chose domestic market to continue the tea business, since the international tea trading market was shrinking. Since 80s, WANG TEA started to teach people to know more about tea through community tour, which made WANG TEA like no others. WANG TEA is always creating the market rather than sharing and dividing the market.
