【Ticket Purchase & Admission Guidelines】
- One ticket allows entry to any one screening of your choice with free seating.
- If you wish to watch two films, you must purchase two tickets.
- Ocean Theater screenings start on the hour and have a duration of approximately 40 minutes. Entry begins 10 minutes before the screening, and late entry is not permitted after 10 minutes to ensure a high-quality viewing experience.
- All ticket holders must enter before the final screening of the day. Late arrivals will result in an invalid ticket. Thank you for your understanding.
|NMMST 8K Ocean Theater
In the lobby, the blue tone decoration and the jelly-fish chandelier welcome our audience to enter the ocean world. Inside the theater, the big blue bubble lighting circles around the wall, which enhances the oceanic atmosphere and provides audience an amazing way to enjoy the wonder ocean world and satisfy their curiosity.
Since 2021, under the support of the Delta Electronics Foundation, the Ocean theatre was renovated and became the 8K theater. The high performance projection system produced by Delta is used, and this is the first one 8K resolution laser projector in Taiwan. With the advanced 8K technology and sound system, the theater can provide the audience a wonderful experience and increase their curiosity of the Ocean.
In addition, the Delta Electronics Foundation also authorize the NMMST to play the movies “Water with Life (8K)”, “Swimming with Humpback Whale (8K)” and “Life in the Coral Reefs (8K)” in the Ocean Theater. These movies can expand the audience’s vision of marine science, environment protection and natural ecology.
In order to provide visitors with a sense of entering the ocean from the moment they step into the theater lobby, the overall design is centered around a blue color scheme, complemented by jellyfish-shaped lights hanging from the ceiling, creating a fresh and lively atmosphere. Inside the theater, a deep blue ocean ambiance is created, with projected images of ocean waves and bubbles on the walls, immediately immersing visitors in a strong maritime atmosphere.
In terms of the interior facilities of the theater, each screening can accommodate approximately 300 visitors. The theater features a giant screen that is approximately 22 meters high and 29 meters wide.

This visually engaging film fosters awareness of wildlife conservation in an easy-to-understand manner, making it perfect for children.
◼ NHK Deep Ocean - Mysterious worlds of the RED SEA

This internationally co-produced documentary by NHK (Japan), Germany, and France features cutting-edge underwater cinematography in stunning 8K resolution. With special permission from the Arabian government, NHK became the first team to conduct an extensive scientific exploration of the Red Sea’s 1,800-meter-deep seabed. The film unveils an extraordinary underwater world, a mysterious gathering of giant sharks, and previously unseen deep-sea salt pools, offering insights into the origins of life on Earth. Featuring an original score by renowned Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi, this film is a must-watch on the big screen in Taiwan.
◼ The Story of Shipwrecks Beneath the Sea

- Synopsis:
Twenty historically significant shipwrecks, spanning from prehistoric times to World War II, have been discovered in Taiwan's surrounding waters. To raise awareness of Taiwan’s underwater cultural heritage, the Ministry of Culture spent two years producing Taiwan’s First Complete Underwater Archaeology Documentary – The Story of Shipwrecks Beneath the Sea. The film follows archaeologists and divers as they brave strong currents and immense water pressure to explore these underwater relics, including interviews with a survivor of the USS Hoover shipwreck, revealing untold stories from a bygone era.
